I have no problem reviewing books, but have typically steered clear of reviewing movies.  This is due largely to there are enough blogs out there that review and critique the film industry.  Why should my opinion count in this most selective of fields?  And I mostly want to keep the focus of Damask Raven on silk and sewing.  Yet I find I am unable to stop thinking about The Greatest Showman. Finn is Great!

I’m watching The Force Awakens at home, and at the very end, the boyfriend comes down and we start chatting about the new Rogue One trailer.  One of the boyfriend’s Facebook friends was disappointed there were no strong male leads from the new Star Wars movies for his kids.  Rey is great, but she’s female, and very clearly the lead. The Witch

The Witch

I don’t typically plan to do movie reviews here, but having hit on two of my passions, historical costuming and the history of witchcraft, I sort of feel compelled to write out my thoughts post-screening. I went in to this movie knowing two things.
